Major Máia Whitaker is a personal officer in the Planetary Union Fleet.

Character Background

Whitaker entered the Raiders at 17 years old. She completed basic at Brittmore Base. In the first action of her first tour, a Purist armor-piercing round penetrated the crew compartment of her APC, causing severe damage to both legs. She was not a candidate for leg replacement surgery. She was honorably discharged from the Raiders, after which, she joined Fleet as a sailor.

She worked her way up the ladder to the rank of corporal before she met Admiral Vincent Epperson, who had her transferred to his staff. Since then, she was promoted through the ranks to her current rank of major.

She is the lead personnel officer for staffing the PUV James Keeling.
