Dennis Diving-Bird is a character in the novel EarthCore by author Scott Sigler.
Character Background
Dennis Diving-Bird, also known as Dennis the Deadhead, was a Hopi Indian who met up with Sonny McGuiness in a bar. He's more often known as Dennis the Deadhead for his choice of attire (tie-dyed shirt and fringed leather jacket covered in Grateful Dead patches) and for having toured with the Dead in the summers of 1979-1984. Over the course of their conversation, Dennis revealed to Sonny that he had found the location of the fabled Silver Spring, and willingly drew a map for the old prospector. When asked why he didn't go after the silver himself, he explained "The devil lives on that mountain. You can feel him, man."
