Pierre is an ancillary character in the rough draft version of the novel Nocturnal by author Scott Sigler. The character is initially introduced in episode one of the audio version of Nocturnal.
Pierre is a creature known as a Nocturnal. He is partly responsible for the abduction and imprisonment of Aggie James from an alley near Fern Street in San Francisco. He is also believed to be responsible for the murder of Alex Panos, the leader of the BoyCo gang. He normally travels with his partner, Sly. As a Nocturnal creature, Pierre demonstrates some unique characteristics including the ability to drop to the ground and jump back up to rooftops without making a sound. He is also a proficient killer that employed brutal methods to dispatch his victims.
Aggie James was camped out in a cardboard box in an alley when he heard Pierre and Sly jump onto a nearby dumpster and discuss his abduction. However, he was too high on heroine to understand what was about to happen to him. He also overhears a conversion between Sly and Pierre indicating that other Nocturnal creatures in their group were hunting gang leader Johnny Yee.
Tiffany is a 67-year-old woman who lives in an apartment building to the left of the alley where Paul Fischer was murdered. She witnessed the murder from a distance and recounted what see saw to Homicide Detectives "Pookie" Chang and Bryan Clauser.
Rex met Pierre, Sly and Sir Voh outside his home and recognized them from his dreams and his drawings. He greeted Pierre by name and Pierre knew immediately that Rex was, indeed, The King. The three creatures presented a beaten and bloody Jay Parlar, the last of the BoyCo gang, to Rex.
The character is referred to with only the single name of Pierre. Aggie James referred to Pierre as "Deep Voice". After hearing a description of Pierre from Tiffany, Pookie dubs him the “Werewolf”.
Pierre is described as a thick man sporting a dirty gray blanket as a makeshift cloak, which barely covered his hulking frame. When Tiffany saw him, he was wearing a black tuxedo jacket and black bermuda shorts in addition to the cloak. His long face and legs were covered in hair and he had long jaws that didn't line up correctly. She also saw that he had a long tongue that hung outside of the right side of his mouth. From Aggie's description, Pierre had a wet, slow, deep voice and he slurred his words which made him sound like Sylvester the Cat from the animated show Looney Tunes.
