'''''The Battle of Asteroid X7''''' occurred on July 15, 2557, when Planetary Union forces met [[Purist Nation|Purist]] forces at Asteroid X7.

==Background==
The Gilchrist was first to respond to a distress call from the P.U.V. Blackmouth, which was under attack from [[Purist Nation]] forces. When the Gilchrist arrived, [[Purist Nation|Nation]] marines had taken control of the Blackmouth, and blasted the Gilchrist with a surprise salvo that nearly crippled the vessel and led to the death of 50 percent of the crew on the Gilchrist. [[Antwone Williams|Captain Williams]] of the P.U.V. Gilchrist made the decision to abandon the Blackmouth, saving the Gilchrist and what remained of its crew. Soon after, reports filtered out that the [[Purist Nation|Nation]] marines raped and butchered the crew of the Blackmouth, earning the vessel the nickname “The Rape Ship.”

The [[Planetary Union]] won by small margin causing the [[Purist Nation|Purists]] fell back to re-group. This fall back was considered the biggest tactical mistake of the war. The [[Planetary Union|Union]] could not mount another offensive for at least three months, and the  [[Purist Nation|Purists]] could have brought up reserves and regrouped right on the front lines.

==Notable Judgments==
As a result of The Battle of Asteroid X7, several notable judgements were made for crimes committed during the battle.

*'''[[Antwone Williams]]''' - [[Antwone Williams|Captain Williams]] was charged with and found guilty of three serious crimes that were punishable by death, although [[Antwone Williams|Williams']] action saved his ship and half of his crew. He was initially sentenced by [[Adrienne Boock|Admiral Boock]] to ''Execution by Venting'' but was given an alternative sentencing of serving a two year tour on the ''[[The Crypt|P.U.V. James Keeling]]'' at his existing position which he declined in favor of death.

*'''[[Travis Ellis]]''' - Charged with the same crimes as Cpt. Williams, [[Travis Ellis|Commander Ellis]] was initially sentenced by [[Adrienne Boock|Admiral Boock]] to ''Execution by Venting''.  However, since [[Travis Ellis|Ellis]] accepted the alternative sentencing of serving a two year tour on the ''[[The Crypt|P.U.V. James Keeling]]'' and [[Antwone Williams|Cpt. Williams]] did not, [[Travis Ellis|Ellis]] was promoted on the spot to Captain and Commanding Officer.
