Reed spent seven years in the Ionath System Police. He was on the take from Gredok almost from the beginning. Gredok's connections allowed Wakhan to climb the promotion latter faster than most.

At Gredok's insistence, Reed then emigrated to the Planetary Union and where he was hired as an inspector in the Earth System Police. Reed worked there for another 10 years, operating as Gredok's primary law enforcement contact there. Reed resigned from that post and became a private investigator. His primary client continues to be Gredok the Splithead, who will often loan Wakhan out as an investigator to other crime bosses.
