Serratan™ Fiber-Tape is a combat-rated fiber restraint material used aboard PUV James Keeling and other Fleet vessels. It is designed for field-deployable restraint of hostile or non-compliant entities, including high-strength threats such as the Sklorno.

Description

  • Braided microfilament poly-kevlar-carbon blend
  • Coated in a self-lubricating ceramic polymer
  • Flash-rated to 600°C
  • Tensile strength rated at 8,000 newtons
  • Retains flexibility in vacuum, fakegrav, and high-humidity environments
  • Immune to acids, solvents, and most known bio-excretions
  • Combat Restraint Standard, Fleet Code SR-33*

Uses

  • Restraint of captured combatants
  • Emergency gear bracing or tethering
  • Improvised medical splinting
  • Securing volatile containers in zero-G

Deployment

Serratan is issued in spools or in hand-deployable zip-tie bundles with thumb-lock or auto-ratchet cinch mechanisms. Can be cut only with vibroblades, monofilament shears, or high-rated burn tools.

Nickname

  • Bonebinder — a popular slang term used by Raiders due to its brutal efficiency and unbreakable nature.
