He was the Bastion's expert on the subject, which made him the perfect companion for Jacoby, a rixator, and Juanita, a monachi, when then located and attacked the nest.

Fall From Grace
After the attack on the jorogumo nest, Halvor had a breakdown where he used his magic to kill four members of the Bastion. Because of his knowledge, the Clostator at the time did not want him executed, so he was sentenced to life in the Gaol.
