I might use character classes as actual things, or just as a guide to defining who can do what.
Contents
Adjurators
The "sorcerer" class of The Bastion. Adjurator is an alternate version of "adiūrātor," Latin for a sorcerer or practitioner of magic.
Bruiser
Brawlers who do their best work up close and personal.
Bioarcaneist
Weavers who study the intersection of life and magic, crafting spells to manipulate or enhance living organisms.
Celestials
Gods and such, all the classic myths.
- Löwenmensch
Creeper
Stalkers, Private Investigators, etc.
Elemental
Weavers and practitioners who control the elements.
- Antoni Piotrowski (earth)
- Callista (fire)
- Billy Middleton (fire)
- Morgan Stone (wind)
Hellion
The classic demons, devils, etc.
Mentis
Psionic practitioners, i.e. telepathy, telekinesis, mind control, etc. I'm not sure if this is a different kind of magic than threads.
Metamorphida
Shape-shifters. This class includes were creatures like werewolves.
Monks
High-level operatives for the Bastion. Monks are both Rixator and Adjurator, masters of physical combat and well-trained in weaving.
Purblind
The normals, the muggles.
Spinner
Someone who fabricates magic from the emotions of the purblind. Spinners make "threads" that weavers can spin into magic spells and items.
Rixator
A brawler, a fighter. These are the physical enforcers of the Corollary.
Weaver
A magician, shaman, wizard, etc.
Weavers come in two main varieties.
- Affinitas: Someone with an affinity for magic, but can't produce raw fiber on their own.
- Naturalis: Someone born with the ability to produce fiber. Man naturalis have no idea they can do this.
