There, they waited for nightfall, when the nocturnal monsters known as lagrounes would come a-callin’. There’s a bounty on those lagrounes, a bounty placed by none other than Lincoln’s former lawyer, Dillon Cantrell. No one has been able to reach Cantrell to find out why he placed the bounty. The sun has set. Night has fallen. It’s almost time to fight.

The offer brings significant danger to Sam, though, as Callista will not be happy, and Dante is being hunted by Vestinian — the man who ruined Magda and wants to absorb Billy’s power. Lincoln wasn’t sure if he should take the deal because of the risk to Sam, but after meeting with his substance abuse group, he decided he has to take the chance. Now, he will find out if Ariella, Magda, and Billy will join him on this quest.

While possessing the armor, can she leave the Old Stone Church for the first time in years? Lincoln’s brother Lukas and sister Sophia showed up unannounced at the Old Stone Church and delivered a message — the Clostator, the leader of the Bastion, demands Linc’s presence in Cordis. To the Franks siblings, the Clostator is also known as “Aunty Juanita,” as she was once the fighting partner of their father, Jacoby Franks, known as the greatest monster hunter of all time. Aunty Juanita doesn’t do things like demand Lincoln’s presence — so what is it she wants?

Dante Oganov is getting ready to make another run at Callista to take over her criminal holdings in Lumencia. Dante, with help from Lincoln’s friend and former lawyer Dillon Cantrell, set up a bounty to test Lincoln. Lincoln had to defeat a swarm of lagrounes, water-based undead that attacked from beneath the Bendelson Bridge near downtown. Dante is on the run from Vestinian, who once tasked Dante to find Billy Middleton. Dante failed. Vestinian wants payback. He hired famed bounty hunter Icepick to find Dante. Icepick, and his familiar Herbie, a giant, diamond-plated tortoise known as a diamortuga, had an early run-in with Lincoln and Billy at the bridge just before Lincoln & co took out the lagrounes. Now, Lincoln has been summoned to Cordis for a talk with Juanita Socorro, the Clostator of the Bastion. Lincoln does not know what she wants, but he has no choice but to obey her summons. Billy is joining Lincoln on the trip. Together, they will visit the Clearinghaüs pawnshop and find Billy’s signature weapon. Lincoln, of course, is unaware that Billy has been sneaking off to Cordis for magical training sessions with Morgan Stone, the former assistant of Kellius Droman and former protector of Droman’s daughter, Delilah.

Lincoln and Billy are in Cordis. Lincoln is about to meet with Juanita. Billy is sneaking in another round of training with Morgan Stone, former assistant to Kellius Droman, father of Delilah. After Lincoln’s meeting, he intends to take Billy shopping at the Clearinghaüs to see if they can find Billy a signature weapon, something Billy can train with and master. Lincoln sent a message to Peanut, manager of the Clearinghaüs, asking to set some ideal weapons aside for the purpose. Did Peanut find something ideally suited to Billy’s skills?

Dante Oganov made a deal with Lincoln — help Dante blackmail Callista into giving him her turf, and Linc gets the ability to get his son, Sam, off the Shelf. All this while Lincoln tries to hide his affair with Ariella, while Billy tries to hide the fact he’s training with Morgan Stone in Cordis, and Magda tries to hide her ever-growing drinking problem. If the Old Stone Church gang can’t trust each other, who can they trust? So, what is the blackmail material that could set Sam free? Dante has not yet told anyone but Cantrell, Lincoln’s friend and former lawyer. When Lincoln finds out what must be done, will he go through with it?

At Ariella’s behest, Lincoln and Billy traveled to Israel, to the Hospitaller Commandery of Saint-Jean-d'Acre, and acquired the Cursed Armor of Sir Arnault the Pure. Magda can control the armor as if she were inside of it through the ear cuff Lincoln took after killing the Lich from Lynchburg. An agoraphobic trapped inside the Old Stone Church for years, can Magda possess the suit and make it walk out the front door? Dante Oganov has a plan to acquire a shard of Callista’s soul and use it to take over her territory and free Lincoln’s son, Sam, from the vicious purgatory known as The Shelf. To accomplish this task, Lincoln needs to assemble a team that can do the impossible — where will he find the missing pieces for this do-or-die lineup?

Lincoln and Dante have put together a team that can break into the underground fortress at Alnwick, where Callista keeps a piece of her soul and uses it to channel magical energy from a hideous anemone polyp farm. Dante is on the run from both Callista and the powerful mage Vestinian. Vestinian hired Icepick to see if Dante is in Lumencia, and to kill him if he’s there. Following a hunch, Icepick went to Cordis and confronted Dillon Cantrell, who brought Lincoln and Dante together for this objective. Is Icepick closing in? And if he is, how does it affect the Alnwick caper?

Linc and the gang had weeks of prep planned for their raid on Callista’s subterranean lair in England, but Icepick’s hunt for Dante — and his rousting Dillon Cantrell for information on the goblin’s whereabouts — meant the gang had to move up the schedule dramatically. To break into Callista’s anemone-chamber vault, where she keeps a piece of her soul, the gang needs Mercutio, who has a key to that vault embedded in his heart. They know Mercutio is in Callista’s club, along with the fire-witch herself, Gariginald “Gary” Satyr, Bobby the minotaur, and hundreds of club-goers. It’s time to get that key.

The gang is after Callista’s lover, Mercutio, who has a magical key embedded in his heart. They need that key to get into a vault hidden away in Alnwick, England. Magda’s pitch-black, cursed armor attacked Callista in her club and threw Mercutio into a wall of liquor bottles behind one of the club’s three bars. Is he hurt? Is he dying? Lincoln, Gary Satyr, and Bobby the Brahma bull minotaur lined up to protect Callista from the armor. The fight is about to get nasty. Meanwhile, Billy is waiting outside in the Old Stone Church’s van — but waiting for what?

The aftermath of the attack on Callista’s club leaves a bullet-ridden Lincoln scrambling to heal in time for Phase II of Dante’s plan. Icepick is about to hear from a very unhappy employer. And through it all, the ticking time bomb that is Lincoln’s family finally goes “boom.”

It’s time for Linc, Billy, and the huge suit of armor controlled by Magda and containing a drugged-up Mercutio to transit to Alnwick, England, for their caper to retrieve a piece of Calista’s soul. The other members of the team—Dante Oganov, Cray-Cray Bray, and the shapeshifter known as “Faceless” await. Meanwhile, the bounty hunter Icepick, who was hired by Vestinian to find Dante, is searching for clues to track the goblin down. Callista called Icepick to her club, thinking he might have been behind Mercutio’s kidnapping. Instead of torching Icepick, though, the fire-witched hired him to find the missing Mercutio. Now, Icepick has two bosses. How can he serve them both at the same time?

Linc, Billy, and the huge suit of black armor controlled by Magda and holding the unconscious Mercutio are in transit, heading to Alnwick, England, where they will meet Dante Oganov, Faceless, and Cray-Cray Bray—let the heist begin. Meanwhile, Gary Satyr is faced with two critical tasks — acquiring Mercutio’s ransom money and tracking down Lincoln Franks so Lincoln can report to Callista.
104	28	Poison Garden	July 20, 2025
Lincoln, Billy, and the armor controlled by Magda are ready to go. Dante, Cray-Cray Bray, and Faceless—all of whom know Billy only as “Walt”—are ready as well. They begin the trials needed to penetrate deep into Callista’s secret catacombs, where she keeps both an anemone polyp nursery and a piece of her soul that connects her to that nursery, which bolsters her magical power. Meanwhile, the bounty hunter known as Icepick continues to hunt for both Dante and for Mercutio’s kidnappers. He suspects those two targets might be one and the same. Is he right?

Now they face the first of six obstacles that must be overcome if they are to capture a piece of Callista’s soul—and a whole helluva lot of gold in the process. Linc, Billy, Dante, Cray-Cray Bray, Faceless—who is the spitting image of Calista herself—and the cursed armor controlled by Magda are about to get a lesson in botany they won’t soon forget.
106	30	A Dip in the Pool	August 3, 2025
Icepick continues his research in “The Dex,” the sprawling library located in and below Cords in the Patchwork. Meanwhile, Lincoln and the others were almost out of the woods, fooling the Matron of the Poison Pool that Faceless was the real Callista. The Matron lowered the pool’s level, exposing a stone path that led safely across. Then Mercutio woke up—his cries for help alerted the Matron to the charade. She flipped the lever to raise the pool and submerged the path, the path all but Magda were walking across, and she ordered her pair of zombie killer whales—Necrokeiko and Grimhole—to attack.
107	31	Death to Druids	August 10, 2025
The bounty hunter known as Icepick—one word, thank you very much—is hoping to track down the Cursed Armor of Sir Arnault the Pure, and thereby locate Callista’s boytoy Mercutio. Icepick’s research set him on a path to find someone from the “verdant” school of magic. He thinks he has just such a candidate. Now, to pay a little visit. Meanwhile, Lincoln, Dante, Billy, Mercutio, Faceless—who is the spitting image of Callista—and Magda—who controls the Cursed Armor and carries the unconscious bioarcaneist Cray-Cray Bray—have made it past the ironbane vines and the Poison Pool. Now they head toward the next test.

Dante Oganov, the Adidas tracksuit-wearing goblin drug lord, is closer than ever to getting the goods on Callista. He’s about to learn why no one has ever before penetrated her booby-trapped catacombs located deep beneath the Anwick Poison Gardens. With Cray-Cray Bray still in a coma, the gang heads toward the next trap—the gravity chamber. Linc needs to keep his mind on the job, yet his thoughts drift toward his son, trapped on the Shelf, and the dressing down he got from Faceless in the last episode.

Magda, who controls the Cursed Armor of Sir Arnault the Pure, continues to carry the comatose Cray-Cray Bray. Lincoln realized he’s using those around him in a way not that different from how Callista uses him—without kidnapping their children and putting them in purgatory, guarded by a huge Naga, of course—but still. Billy knows he must control his fire-that-is-not fire if the quest is to succeed. Dante and Faceless, who is posing as Callista herself, lead the way.

Thanks to a resurgent Cray-Cray Bray, Linc and the gang got past the Alarm Mushrooms and have just entered the polyp chamber. It’s time to meet the cultists, see the evil Callista has wrought, and experience the moving trauma that are the free-ranging polyps. Mercutio wants out of this nightmare, Dante wants Callista’s dormantus, Lincoln wants his son back, Cray-Cray and Faceless want their gold, Magda wants to help Linc, and wants to protect Billy. And Billy? He wants his booty left alone.
111	35	Just the Tip	September 7, 2025
Linc and the gang have Callista’s dormantus, but can they escape through the cultists and the… um… “happy to see you” polyps? A mob of cultists, polyps that want Billy, Alarm Mushrooms, and more–It’s wall-to-wall carnage as Callista’s defenses dig in to stop the theft.
112	36	Surrounded	September 14, 2025
The gang got the dormantus that will let Dante blackmail Callista to get Lincoln’s son out of purgatory, but there’s a problem. Anyone can have the dormantus… the trick is to leave with it, and there is a mob of angry pus cultists who don’t want that to happen, and a passel of polyps dead set on turning Billy into an anemone bush. Billy tried to solve things peacefully, but the cultists wouldn’t let him. He’s killed and will have to kill again if he’s to escape the fate the polyps have in mind. The polyps tried to paralyze Billy, but missed him and instead paralyzed Mercutio. With Merc draped over Lincoln’s shoulders, Linc, Billy, Armor-Magda, Faceless/Callista, and Cray Cray Bray have to get past the cultists blocking the way to the transit chamber and the totem that will get them the hell out of there. Can the gang beat the odds and make it out alive?

Billy got a face full as well, but managed to get control of the insidious insemination before turning that power around and blasting the living bejesus out of cultists and polyps alike. He, Linc, Magda, and Dante now face the ultimate threat—Wyrmmother is on her way.

Lincoln, Billy, Dante, and the cursed suit of armor controlled by Magda left Cordis and have transited to the Lumencia train station. They have the dormantus, and are preparing for the final showdown with Callista at her club. Can they blackmail her into giving up her Lumencia criminal holdings, and with it, the contract that keeps Sam locked up on the Shelf? Can Lincoln finally free his only child from purgatory?

Dante used Callista’s dormantus—the piece of her soul that channeled raw magical power from the anemones in the cavern beneath the Alnwick Poison Garden—to blackmail her into giving him her Lumencia properties and criminal organizations. She is also giving Dante the contract that keeps Lincoln’s son, Samuel, trapped on The Shelf. As soon as Ariella Goldman, Lincoln’s lawyer, and Shocking Cock Kahn, Callista’s lawyer, finish filing the paperwork, Samuel will finally be set free. Lincoln, Dante, Billy, and Magda—who controls Sir Arnault the Pure’s Cursed Armor—are at Callista’s club, which is now Dante’s club, celebrating as they patiently wait for the magical ink to dry. Is Lincoln’s grueling quest to save his son finally over?

Icepick and Herbie the Love Bug crashed Dante’s victory party at Callista’s club. Icepick took out Dante, Billy, and Lincoln, and put the “Oleous Oakbeard Big Druid Whammy” on the Cursed Armor of Sir Arnault the Pure. That destroyed the suit and zapped Magda’s spirit back to her body in the Old Stone Church, leaving Billy and Linc at Icepick’s mercy.
118	42	Bite Down Hard	October 26, 2026
At Calista’s club, Icepick has the upper hand. He’s told Callista to call off the transfer of her assets to the drug-dealing goblin Dante Oganov. One of those assets is the contract that keeps Lincoln’s son, Sam, trapped on the Shelf. If Icepick kills Dante, it’s game over—Callista keeps the contract, and Sam remains in this violent purgatory forever. Trying to find a way to win, Lincoln challenged Icepick to a duel to the death. Despite his injuries, Lincoln won that violent duel, breaking Icepick’s arm before putting him down with an armored knee to the balls. That should have been all she wrote, but Icepick—hurt and barely conscious—called for help from his killer diamortuga. With Billy and Dante restrained by magic-suppressing cables, Lincoln is on his own. Can he survive an attack from a two-ton, man-eating turtle?

Linc and the gang won the day, defeating Icepick and Herbie, bringing down Callista’s entire building in the process. Dante gained control of Callista’s possessions, including the contract that held Sam imprisoned on the Shelf. Will Lincoln finally bring his only child home?
