Character Background
Sharma is from a deeply religious Hindu family in the Little India cluster of the Jupiter Net Colony. Her father was abusive toward her and her mother. As a teenager, she rebelled against her family and religion, both of which disapproved of her being a lesbian.
She worked various odd jobs, succeeding at none of them. She joined the Raiders at the age of 20. Sharma advanced through the enlisted ranks, reaching the rank of sergeant (E5).
Sharma completed two combat tours (tours to be filled in later). She dated Kira Ashenafi for two years and was arrested for domestic violence against Kira three times during that period. the last assault was the worst -- Sharma broke Kira's right arm in two places, fractured her jaw, and broke her cheekbone. Sharma was courts martialed for the assault and demoted to corporal (E4).
Attributes
Description
From VOIDSTRIKE:
- John noticed the crimson dot on her forehead, just between her eyebrows. A bindi. Was she Hindu? She hadn’t worn it on the last patrol. Maybe a few weeks entombed had her re-thinking her religious stance. She wasn’t the only one, John knew, nor did it surprise him — the madness of the Mud drove people to seek comfort and hope in various ways. Hell, if he’d ever been religious, maybe he’d be doing the same thing. Final draft.
